A return gets hard when the box is gone, the date is fuzzy, and the receipt is hiding in an inbox jungle.

This return policy checklist takes a few minutes at purchase time. It gives you a clean path if the item is wrong, broken, or simply not for you.

Before you buy

Find the return window and note when the clock starts. It may begin on the order date, ship date, or delivery date.

Check who pays shipping, whether opened items qualify, and whether refunds go to your payment method or store credit.

When the item arrives

Take one photo of the box before opening if the item is valuable or the package looks damaged. Check that the model and color match your order.

Keep the box and inserts until you know the item works. Put small parts in one bag so the couch does not claim them.

Start the return in writing

Use email or the seller's return system so there is a dated record. State the order number, the issue, and the result you want.

Keep the message calm and short. Clear facts travel faster than a twelve-paragraph rage opera.

Save the final proof

Photograph the packed return and save the drop-off receipt. Track the package until it arrives.

Do not delete the record when the box lands. Wait until the refund appears on your statement. Then you can close the case like the capable hero you are.
